Wolfshagen is beautiful and very naturally connected. There are lovely hiking trails and it's situated right in nature.

Wolfshagen isn't your typical Harz Mountain village with beautiful half-timbered houses. New housing developments dominate here. Nevertheless, the village is worth a visit. I love hiking there. You can enjoy lovely walks through the meadows. There are benches everywhere for resting. The renaturalized quarry on the Heimberg is definitely worth seeing. From the Schäderpavillon (a pavilion), you have a beautiful view over the village. There are still old pollarded trees to admire, which unfortunately are increasingly falling victim to the saw.

A great view into the quarry; it's a bit like something out of Lord of the Rings. The path from the parking lot isn't far, and there's no steep incline. There's a hut at the quarry, and for HWN stamp collectors, it's number 109.

A very quaint place in the West Harz Mountains. We feel very comfortable there. There's a bakery and a small supermarket. A great hiking area is easily accessible. It's located between two dams, each 4 km apart. The old quarry is beautiful.

A real hiking gem! 16km with two HWN stamps and a fantastic view. Despite the rain, it was fantastic! First, hike over the steep section to the Altarklippen, incredibly beautiful.

A beautiful place; there's a big celebration here on Walpurgis Night, and some great events are organized. Also worth a visit is the diabase quarry; the renaturalized quarry is worth a stroll. After mining operations ceased, a lot of work was done to create a small paradise for flora and fauna. Just follow the "Trail of Stones" sign.

A really interesting hike around and through the former quarry; the only thing missing was a few dinosaurs wobbling through the valley.

A lovely village where everyone still knows each other. The local bakery and supermarket are a plus. There's also a café and an outdoor swimming pool. E-bikes are available for rent at the tourist information office. Highly recommended; we'd love to come back. P.S.: If, like us, you only want to hike, you'll be well catered for. There are well-marked trails right in town.

A lovely little spa park with a tourist information center in Wolfshagen. It offers opportunities for chess, table tennis, boules, etc. Beautifully landscaped with a pond, plenty of benches, and a Kneipp pool. Unfortunately, opening hours are limited to Monday to Friday.
